Final Days of Summer ’13

Abstract

After spending 3-weeks now in the jungle + beach of Mexico, I have noticed many shifts in my own energy. Upon arriving at end of July, I was definitely still vibrating the urban jungle in every one of my cells – a tad tense, guarded, and hurried. Shedding of that armor took about 5 days, (armor I was not even aware I was wearing until it was let go of), and then once immersed in the original lush jungle with the mosquitos and hot damp air every day + night, the importance of being around Mother Nature was once again revealed.

We take ourselves wherever we go – wherever you are, you are, HOWEVER, neurosis can be put to bay, so that our trueness, our LIGHT, or REAL temperament can shine through. You can still be a go-getter, ambitious, and hungry for life, but this attitude is softer, less wired + less neurotic WHEN you get in touch with Nature for a bit. She actually GIVES you love + energy; the urban jungle TAKES from you over time.

Ready to come back, filled up with Mother Nature’s goodies, I will remember this fact of life in the future — we all need to leave our comfort zones, our cities, we need to spend time alone, AND with people. It’s all about balance.

Having now spent enough time away, I am super-excited to get back to that fabulous city, I call home – NYC, I love you.

Deepen your practice like never before..

“I’ve been lucky enough to practice yoga with April for the last 10 years. Whether in class or in a private session, April inspires me to work hard, move carefully, and to tap into the healing power of yoga. April’s gift of touch is uncanny. When she finely tunes my body in an adjustment, it is as if she makes an imprint – I can later move myself into that position as if she were still with me…”
